Autism Awareness

Each April, I create a new pieces for the celebration of Autism Awareness Month.  These bangle bracelets were well received by those looking for a way to support those who know, love, live or work with someone with Autism.  Beyond being a glass artist, I am first and foremost a speech language  therapist that has known many amazing people that are diagnosed with autism.  Over the years, I have witnessed a trend toward earlier diagnosis and therefore earlier intervention.  The general public is better informed,schools are better equipped and parents are better supported and that translates into significant growth for the individual with autism.  It seems that in my lifetime we have moved a few mountains, but there are still more to work on. I try to do my part each and every day, even if it is just a little piece.
